Chance me for UCs, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, Stanford, Cornell, etc.!

I’m a California resident. Chance me for Brown PLME, Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, UPenn, USC, Georgetown, Harvard, Cornell (also side note, I applied to the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences as a Biometry and Statistics major, is this easier to get into than the college of arts and sciences? my interests perfectly matched the major, so my essay was good) and UC schools: UCLA, UC Berkeley (requested for LOR), UC San Diego
(applied Bio and sent research abstracts to most schools)

SAT I : 2200 (760 CR, 700 M, 740 W) (superscore, and single sitting)
SAT II: 780 Molecular Biology, 780 US History
Unweighted GPA: 3.92, Weighted GPA (10-12): 4.82, Total Weighted GPA 4.66
UC GPA: around a 4.2? 4.3?
Class Rank: 3/803
AP tests: 5s in European History, US History, English Language/Composition, Statistics, Art History, Biology, Psychology; 4 in Human Geography (silly freshman)
(National AP Scholar)

Activities:
Lead saxophonist at an academy for performing arts all 4 years in high school, performed in a few MainStage shows
Team Captain of Varsity Soccer (1 year), playing in high school 3 years (skipped junior year)
Won league title for soccer (I’m good at soccer, but not great enough to get recruited to the schools I’m interested in, except maybe UCSD, but not interested in playing soccer in college at a competitive level)
Varsity MVP soccer
Volunteer at local hospital (200+ hours) 3 years
President of Science Olympiad club on campus 3 years, member for 4 years
President and founder of an Innovation Club on campus for 2 years (build little innovative things, help with community, etc.)
Founder and president of a fun/weird club in which we appreciate beards (I KNOW, but it’s important to me)
Cancer awareness volunteer – raised money for children fighting cancer all 4 years
Piano competitions (no wins, just for fun) and art competitions (won one art contest, but also mainly for fun)

Work Experiences:
I think the highlight of my application is my intern work in cancer research and data analysis. I worked alongside researchers, physicians, and statisticians to find new ways to improve a specific radiation cancer treatment. The study will be completed in a month, but I have been working on it for the past year (big data analysis, lots of work, all that) and also I had another leadership role here, as I represented our research team in tumor board meetings and conferences across California. Additionally, I shadowed a really fantastic doctor for 6 months, and he wrote me a really great LOR, and of course, really interesting experiences.

Essays:
I talked about my work in a country in Africa, where I came up with a solution to improve public health conditions. It wasn’t cliche, I promise
My passion for arts and sciences
Research

I’m a South Asian student, but I have personality and a sense of humor (I swear) I’m definitely not boring. I really love Liberal Arts schools and my letters of recs were usually from my Biology and Art History teachers (both loved me, and I love them and the doctor I shadowed.

I also understand that it’s really hard to base predictions off of just looking at a list of stuff and numbers, but I’m interested in what you guys have to say. I will chance back to all the lovely folks who take the time to read and reply!

For the UCs, USC, and Georgetown, I think you have a good chance. For the rest of the schools, the admissions evaluation is very arbitrary and unpredictable. You cannot expect anybody to chance you for those. A lot of students with excellent profiles apply, and a lot of them get rejected.

You have the potential to be a very competitive applicant. Your academics are rock solid, and your ECs and interests have a bit of distinctiveness. You will need to put together an application which presents all of your activities within a coherent narrative. Your top targ ER ts are highly competitive, but you have a solid shot if you present yourself well.

your objective stats are really really impressive

maybe if you have started an external organization, getting involved with more student organizations or external extracurricular activities aside from doing hospital research it would have made you a solid candidate for ivies

but overall i think ucs, usc, georgetown, cornell and maybe even brown-would be awesome matches!

You have a very impressive resume. I think Columbia(40%), Duke(65%), UPenn(55%), USC(70%), Georgetown (65%), Cornell (45%), UC San Diego (85%) and UCLA( 65%) are all within reach. The only concern I have for you is that by applying for “Biometry and Statistics” they might expect a higher SAT Math score even with a solid SAT II.

I reckon that your chance at Harvard is about 15-20% because the 2200 SAT score is below average there.

@MayiqueCynthia Sorry but, what do you mean by external extracurricular activities? I play varsity soccer, two instruments at a performing arts center, founded two clubs, and have raised money for the past 4 years for cancer research? And went to Africa for a public health project?

@dreambig98 External EC’s are things that you do that are not affiliated with your school. This could mean starting your own company, tutoring/jobs, club sports, etc. Also, many admissions offices across the country are told to not be impressed by those relief missions to Africa (or any other place deemed “Third World”). It’s a clear indicator of privilege.
