Chance me for UC's, NW, etc.

Currently a rising Junior looking into these schools:
UC's (mainly LA and Berkeley)
USC
Northwestern
Boston College
Boston University
ASU-Barrett Honors College (should be easy)

I go to a fairly competitive traditional school in Arizona; we've had a few in each graduating class go to Ivies and other competitive schools. Pretty big (about 2700 kids), and in a pretty well-off area.

Stats:
Rank-top 2-2.5%
Overall GPA-3.94UW/4.72W
PSAT-185
SAT-1920 first try (didn't study, going to work my ass off for 2100+)
SATII-750 Physics, 730 US History
ACT-
Ethnicity-White
Gender-Male

Freshmen Year:
Honors English-A/A
Honors Physics-A/A
Honors Geometry-A/A
Graphic Design-A/A
Spanish I-A/A
PE/Life Concepts-A/A

Sophomore Year:
Honors English-A/A
Honors Biology-A/A
Honors Algebra II-A/A
Graphic Design II-A/A
Honors Spanish II-A/A
AP Euro-A/A (3)

Junior Year:
AP English Language-A/A
Honors Chemistry-A/A
Honors Pre-Calc-A/A
AP Physics-A/A
Honors Spanish III-A/A
AP US History-B/B

Senior Year:
AP English Literature-
AP Chemistry-
AP Calculus AB-
AP Biology-
Honors Spanish IV-
AP Macroeconomics/American Government

EC's:
-Published poet
-AIMS Scholarship (in-state tests that you must exceed on by your Junior year to receive a scholarship to three main in-state Universites. I exceeded on all three my first try)
-Travel Ice Hockey for about 8 years
-Varsity Hockey all four years of high school
-Varsity assistant captain Sophomore and Junior years-expected to be Captain next year.
-Hockey Club VP Sophomore year, President Junior/Senior years.
-Crazies E-board all 4 years (it's a student-lead club which is basically the student sections at the sporting events. we set up fundraisers, tailgates, make shirts, etc.)
-Freshmen Mentors (pretty self-explanatory; we have a group of freshmen that we help with different situations and have lesson plans that we go through on all of the 1/2 days with them-starts Junior year)
-Mentor Big Boss Junior/Senior year (the "leader" of the Mentors-we lead each class of Mentors)
-National Honors Society
-Physics Phreaks-tutors the freshmen physics students
-Tutoring hours in various subjects

*Hockey is really my passion right now. I don't see myself getting a Division I scholarship for it, but it takes up a majority of my time, so I am lacking in a lot of other EC's because of it. It has taught me many life lessons, and I have made a majority of my close friends within the years, if that makes any difference.

**will add more to this later

ANY CRITICISM/SUGGESTIONS OF THINGS TO ADD IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks in advanced!

With a 2200+ SAT, your chances are about 50/50

I’m pretending you get a 2200+ SAT. You’re match for LA, Berkeley. USC is a SLIGHT reach or match since they love test scores. Can’t comment on the others lol sorry.

Chance back? (:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358556-all-my-cali-folks.htm</a></p>

UCs will be a bit of a reach for you unless you can get that SAT up to 2200+. Otherwise I would still apply and really try to show your passion for hockey in your essays because colleges like passion. Same for USC. BU should be ok with higher SAT score but I feel like that’s a bit more comfortable than the UC schools. BC should be fine. Northwestern will definitely be a reach, your classes and gpa are good but your SAT is gonna be a bit of a block. Unless you could try being recruited? Good luck! Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358111-updated-please-chance-me-any-all-schools-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

For Berkeley 50/50 would be 2300+

Even with your current SAT scores, you should be in fairly decent shape for UC’s because they primarily focus on GPA. Your EC’s are excellent and should give you a fair shot at NW.
BC and BU are easy matches, ASU is in.

thanks for the replies, guys. how late do I have to take the SAT again? i know there are dates in October and November, which one would you recommend, or should I just take it on both dates?

also, if i want to take more SATII’s (chemistry, bio, literature), because I am taking the AP course for those classes, should i take those later in the year after i master those subjects, or would it not matter? OR, should i re-take USH/Physics/Math1or2 until I get 750-800?

Assuming you get 2100+
UCLA and Berkeley are low matches
USC is a match
Northwestern is a match
ASU- Safety
BC- Match
BU- Good Chance

Here’s my thread- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358327-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

Guys-middle 50% sat scores for berkeley and ucla are wayy below 2300 and certainly below 2200

aren’t you a rising senior? get those SAT I scores up and you’ll be in good shape. take your intended major into account as well.

Yeah, I’m a rising senior. I copied and pasted this from my old thread sophomore year and forgot to edit that part
