I’m an international and have filled the forms for UCB, UCSD and USC… Based on my scores - TOEFL 106, SAT I 1910, SAT II 800 Physics 800 Maths Level 2 - chance me for these universities for an undergrad.
I’m very nervous regarding my SAT 1 score…I just hope somehow my TOEFL scores make up for it?
Chances are doubtful…your sat is way too low for UCB and USC. UCSD is barely passable, but we need more context.
Judging from that, UCB and USC: reaches, UCSD low reach.
In particular, post your GPA, courses, extracurriculars, and major you’re aiming for. Can you afford ~$55K w/o financial aid, because that’s what you’re going to be paying for all schools as an international.
UCB - reach
USC - reach
UCSD - low reach
More information needed to chance you better.
Extracurriculars? GPA? Major? Awards?
And I myself have a TOEFL score of 113, I don’t think it makes up for your loss in SAT I because it’s just a supplement needed by colleges which shows you’re fine with their language of instruction.
Umm… In my country, we have the Cummulative GPA… I’m having 10/10 CGPA in my previous school years. My ECs - having learnt a few programming languages, animation, Networking and all of that sort.
Then I’ve reached upto the Zonal level athletics in 100m and 200m race events. Have a couple of medals in International and National Olympiads (Bronze and Silver).
And yep, I suppose I will be able to manage the ~$55K fee w/o the financial aid. Have planned out private funding. Guess my SAT 1 is just gonna ruin it all…!
PS - Planning for major in Computer Science.
Any thoughts on my ECs @Digitallyshrewd @YuiHirasawa ??
No, the SAT I isn’t gonna ruin everything, it’s just a factor.
Think of it this way, a college asks for a lot of things. Transcripts. Standardized test scores. English proficiency test scores. Extracurriculars. After receiving all of that material, they give you points in every category pertaining to those. You’re strong in some category, which in turn, makes up for the weakness in the other. But what we don’t know is how much they weight every category, one university might have SAT I as 30% while the other might just weight it at 15%, it depends.
Your ECs do tend towards CS, but they don’t provide depth, though the bronze and silver medals do help.
Chance me back?
