Hi, I'm from india. I have my CR+Math equal to 1320 where math is 760 and cr is 560. My overall score is 1880. I have good marks in grade 11 and 12 half yearlies. 11th is 86% and 12th hy is 87%. I'm applying for Biomedical Engineering. I have great extra curriculars:

Vice President Students Council of my school
Awarded Best Student of the batch last year
National level Cricket Player been captain of the state team
Model United Nations where won best delegates and been a part of Executive Board of international MUNs twice
Won international 1st prizes at essay writing competitions
Worked with few of the best doctors as internships
Awarded Scholarship worth 5000 dollars where I stood 6th in India and 1st in my state
French language DELF exam cleared with distinction

I have been placed in top 1% by my counselor in a class of 1010 students. I have also got great recommendations and a winning essay.

Hi, your stats are great except for that cr score. I would guess that you will most likely get in, however UT is very number focused from what my school counselors have explained to me. I would try to raise that cr number, but if you cannot (or don’t feel the motivation to do so lol) I do not think it is the end of the world. Good luck!

Btw your ec’s are AMAZING ;)

Oh, and I would look into taking a standardized test in biology and physics or general science if possible. It would look good to have scores that show focus on your chosen major.

UT Austin is a reach. It is extremely tough for international students to get in. For engineering, an international student would probably require 2150+

I agree with Ya Ya. Your test scores are low, not only for international students, but compared to the overall Engineering school standards. However, depending on which school you come from, and the quality of your essays and letter of recommendations (i’m guessing from one of these well regarded Doctors?), you may have a shot. BUT the biggest reason may be the fact that you are an international student who can FULLY PAY tuition and housing (possibly) without any aid!

Fair warning: be prepared for the rigorous history/government/english classes at UT. I understand English is not your first language, but you will have to make sure that deficiency is cleaned up sooner rather than later. Fikar nai kar, doost! (Yes, I know hindi myself :P)
