What are my chances at UT Austin / Georgia tech / Umich / UIUC

Hey,
I’m an Indian student
My scores-
SAT - Cr -560 w-650 maths-780 (cr scores would go up by 70 points at least)
SAT 2 - (expecting 800 on each Phys chem and maths)
AP - (5 on both of the physics C)
Class 9th CGPA - 9.6
10th CGPA - 9.2
11th scores - 70% (well Indians tend to score low during 11th)

My ECs-
A good amount of experience in quizzing, (say 15-20 quizzes) and came first in the city for a couple of them.
A more than decent guitar player(have done a live performance in school)
Been part of the International press in 2 MUNs (we don’t have much of them here)

Achievements-
Well only one is worth mentioning… Cleared NTSE state level exam( the exam is taken in class 10th by 15000 students and cleared by only 90 students).

Also I believe I can provide with insightful essays.

P.S. - I’d be applying for fall 2016
Also , do I stand a chance at UCB?

Forgot to mention, I’d be applying to ECE major (also UTA does have a huge intage of around 1300 students for ECE)

What’s your GPA?

Because most schools base a lot of their decisions of gpa

Bring up your test score. Currently your SAT is low for these schools (assuming engineering major) particularly for OOS/international students.

@cs1117 Indian schools don’t give GPAs, the above mentioned CGPA are out of 10.
@billcsho my SAT cr is definitely gonna increase by at least 60 points and will be going for an 800 on maths.

oh you go to a school in india…i though you just said you were indian…oops sorry about the confusion

but its going to be super hard to get in as international student…i would definitely bring up your test scores but i know GT takes quite a few international kids

Increase CR to 620 is not likely to be sufficient as that is only around or below the admission 25th percentile. Aim at 700 for a better chance.

From what I have heard about UT, the engineering school is extremely hard to get into if you are not an auto-admit as a Texas resident. The majority of slots are filled by students in the top 7-8% of their graduating high school classes and the engineering spots are very competitive even for auto-admits. I would think that the remaining slots are filled by applicants with outstanding scores or compelling personal stories.
