Hi guys, I'm a rising senior and I've finally compiled my list of schools I'd like to apply to this fall/winter:

UVA (my dream school; I know it's a reach)
GW
VT
GMU
JMU
VCU

UW GPA: 3.86 (4.14 W)
SAT: 1880 first time, 2010 second time, might retake in October
SAT Subject Tests: planning to take Math II and Lit or French

5 AP's, 7 AP exams by the time I graduate (Lang, Lit, Calc AB, Calc BC, French, Stats, Psychology)

EC's: Not nearly enough.
French Club 9th
French Honor Society 10th, 11th
Asian American Student Association 11th
Environmental Club 11th
Thinking of joining NHS and maybe NEHS next year. Or should I just worry about NHS?
100-ish hours of volunteering
Piano (8 years)
Guitar (self-taught)

termah: I’m in VA. Yeah, GW’s the only DC school I’m looking at right now.

barrk123: I’m not going into Engineering at VT. In fact, as of right now, I’m planning of going into Accounting/Finance/MIS/ISOM (something like that) and W&M seemed more like a LAC.

You’ll get into GMU and VCU with no problem. Probably JMU as well, but idk about the honors program. UVA is always a reach for anyone but they have to accept 2/3 of applicants from instate so you have a good shot. GW is a low reach/high match in my opinion. Idk enough about VA Tech.

barrk123: I’ll be sure to look into W&M. Maybe I can squeeze a visit sometime this summer.
termah: Thanks for the input!
DebbyOkay: Yeah, I know I need to work on my EC’s some more this summer. I’m pretty confident about my college essays, so yeah, I’m just hoping for the best. I’ll be sure to check out your chance me’s.
