Okay, so I have a 3.95 unweighted GPA, 4.167 weighted. 9 AP classes in high school, 3 honors courses and a 35 on the ACT. I'm president and founder of the Spanish Club in my public high school, vice-president of our NHS chapter, and participate in a leadership program called Reaching Higher (you can google it if you would like). I also come from a low income, single-parent family. My dad died when I was a kid, so that's certainly something I've overcome. Neither parent went to college. I've played travel baseball for 8 years now, and I work after school every day and during the summer. I'm a paid technology intern for my school district, which involves fixing computers, and in my case, answering phones. Through this job, I've developed not only computer skills, but also personal and conversation skills. I have been promoted to the highest position a student can achieve as a technology intern. In total, the work comes out to be about 20 hours/week/year. I've got a killer Common App essay, and my supplementals are still in the works. I have a letter of recommendation from the best teacher in our school, and possibly from the superintendent of our school district. What's the outlook?

You’re certainly qualified, but obviously not guaranteed in.

That was my thought as well. I hit the things that they want, hopefully their dart just happens to land on my name.
