Chance Me? - Georgia Tech, JHU, Vanderbilt (BME)

I am currently a high school junior and I am seeking advice as to how to strengthen my application and improve my chances of college admission. I plan on applying to the following universities (top choices) as a BME applicant:

Georgia Institute of Technology
Johns Hopkins University
Vanderbilt University

Stats:

ACT: 34
SAT: N/A

GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 4.95

Dual Enrollment: Took 2 courses at a local university (music and biology)

NOTE: My high school has one of the best engineering programs in the state. I have enrolled in several of my school's offerings ranging from biomedical sciences to software engineering courses. I don't know if this has any influence over the fact that I will be applying for an engineering major.

Recommendation/Essays:
I don't know at this point. However, I hope that both my recommendations and essays will be strong.

Thanks for the advice!

As far as GT is concered, there’s nothing wrong.
I don’t know much about the other two, despite that they are competitive in general

I’m applying to JHU for BME as a senior this year. They have one of the most competitive BME programs out there. If I get in, I’m sure you will, if your essays are good. Almost all of your stats are a one up from mine. If you’re serious about music as well, you could apply to the Peabody conservatory if you get accepted to JHU. They have a ~5 year double degree program. It’s what I plan on doing.

[Here’s my thread for comparison. Chance me!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1594592-chance-me-johns-hopkins-university.html?highlight=chance+me+for+johns+hopkins+university)

bump - thanks for the responses

You have a lot of extracurriculars, but remember that leadership & awards> number of extracurriculars. Be sure to show commitment and leadership in your EC

Thanks May.

I think you are in at Georgia Tech. Vanderbilt and Hopkins are more competitive but you have strong stats and you are in the ballpark.

You have all the scores that you need, you should just work on your ECs. Many of the people who apply will have similar scores, so try to do something that will make your application stand out.

Johns Hopkins: Low Reach
Vanderbilt: Low Reach/High Match
Georgia Tech: Match
