ACT is fine.
~ SAT II is average.
~ GPA is average.

Fine rigor.

~ University credits are fine, but not really indicative of anything

ECs

Strong focus on music

Violin is generic

Indian Classical music is unique. What instrument do you play?
~ ok volunteering

EC Laundry List. Please categorize, no admissions is going to sift through 16 ECs, with so many being almost the same thing (violin) for example, change to: Music, 1st Violin, Lead School Symphonic Orchestra/St. Louis Suburban Orchestra/blablabla prize/blablabla prize; Indian Classical Music: Culture sharing in local community

Focus your essays on something else other than violin. If you focus too much on violin it will be very dangerous.

Good luck, you have some great stats and extracurriculars! Good luck!

I believe you have a good chance with all of them. However, the ivies are a reach and unpredictable. Among Ivy applicants, you aren’t too special, but still will stand out a little. UC Berkeley is very grade motivated. I wouldn’t rely on your ECs making up for your grades for every college, as regardless of their selectivity, they have different desires. Good luck!

Chance me back please?

if you’re going into bio/math, ucla and berkeley are match to high match. chemistry, however, is under the college of chemistry, which is slightly more difficult than the college of letters and sciences. Upenn and JHU would still be reaches and uiuc is still a match

Your GPA is a little low (with freshman year) but the rest of your stats are fine and will most likely compensate for that. Also, the Ivy league and other schools at that level have very low acceptance rates so, even if you’re perfect, it’s tough to get in. However, I think that you stand a good chance!

My only advice is to keep on going. You’re pretty solid. To get a better match (it’s hard to with any of these Ivies and top schools) you need to do something that really stands out. You’re an average within the group of bests. Good luck!

@woandering I’ve consistently had a gpa improvement as freshman year set me down will this help

While it’s obviously better than having consistently low grades, against another person with consistently higher grades, it’s not an advantage. If you have a good reason for having lower grades, you could explain it in an essay to increase your chance of acceptance. Or, if you learned how to manage your time more effectively as time went on, that would also help. Show them why your grades got better, and what did you learn from the whole experience.

@woandering ok thanks and I was wondering are my ecs good?

@skyrior with indian classical music I do that vocally

Your ECs are amazing. What would have helped is extending that job. Balancing job and school is always hard work, and if you can do that for long periods, then you’re amazing. Good luck!

@woandering Thank you so very much.
