Chance me! ill chance you back:)

While I don’t know much about individual schools admissions process, I do know that a lot of the large state schools don’t rank high schools by prestige, so being from the best high school in the state may or may not mean much. As mentioned before, don’t base the SAT off of an expected PSAT score, mine was much lower the first time I took it. UT-Austin is EXTREMELY difficult to get into as an out of state student, so you need to try to get the GPA up. I’ve seen what UNC-CH accepts and I would say you’ve got a nice chance for there though.

The GPA is a bit of a problem. UNC and Michigan might be large reaches, but you should be okay for UT. And from anecdotal evidence, your SAT score usually goes up 100 points from PSAT to SAT with little prep, so you should be looking at 2250+ on the SATs. Good luck!

Plan on taking the SAT soon, so you have the opportunity to get it up! You have May and June and October too  So do that, so you have a projected score soon! Even though your GPA isn’t perfect, your ECs are very impressive. It’s quite far but TCNJ (The College of New Jersey) has a great business program that features internships and all that. Very good immersion into the field. I know it’s far from you, but I’ve visited it and it’s great for those who want to go into accounting and finance. I think you have a GREAT chance of getting into UT! Your amount of volunteer service is impressive!

please chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1327196-chance-me-please.html#post14249589</a></p>

Thanks everyone! Any other chances? And remember, I WILL chance you back.

Bump bump bump

With the exceptional ECs, potential SAT, and, especially, the rigor of your class load, I would say that your class rank and GPA are overshadowed.

UV: Nearly match, because you are in-state. Although, I have heard horror stories from this place. SAT above 2200 and you should be a match.
UT-Austin: Likely match, or safety if your SAT is above 2200.
Michigan-Ross: Match or safety, although I am unsure.
UNC-Chapel Hill: Middle reach, because of notorious allergic reaction to OOS.

Oh, and 215 will probably make NMSF in Kansas.

Wow really? I have no idea what to think anymore! Everyone has compleatly different theories about the schools I will get into!

Bump bump bump. Chance for USC (so cal)

You’ve got a pretty high chance for all those schools! Chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1328412-chance-me-top-unis.html</a></p>

I mentioned elsewhere that USC is a very appealing school. It appears to admit a fair number of OOS students, and the half tuition (21k) for NMFs is generous. It is too far away for me, but given your scores and efforts, I would say that you could be accepted. Although it is a very competitive school (top 25 in country), I think that, at worst, you would be waitlisted. However, UVA for instate holds equal prestige to me, although maybe not for financing. It is probably in the top three public schools. Hope that helps, and good luck!

Well since you want to go to UVA and UT, im assuming your going to want to go to their respective business programs. Mcintire at UVA and McCombs at UT are both equally difficult. In fact, most non top 25 schools who have a particular program that is outstanding (like the McCombs Business School at UT) are harder to get accepted to if your in that particular field of interest. Say you want to go into engineering and you decide you want to go to UT for that field. It would be considerably easier to get accepted to UT because that particular field at UT is of low interest to many top students (i have no idea how good UT’s engineering program is. im just trying to give an example), whereas McCombs is a top choice of many students nationwide. so basically, you might get into UT but you might not get accepted to McCombs (happened to my friend this year) the same goes for UVA. Both schools are known for their business programs, so they’ll of course be harder to get accepted to. I would say that you should aim for the highest possible score on the SAT.

Thanks for the info! Any more chances? What about GW, and George Mason as well?
