<p>You can’t think that if you get straight a’s and do NOTHING else your good, but you can’t be an Olympic level lax star and fail school and assume you’ll get in.</p>
<p>Word of wisdom on the ssat. Get the petersons practice book. I loved it. Also, bring your own black pen. The ones given out are crap. (replace crap with expletive). Finally, wear cozy clothes. This isn’t a fashion show hunny, and you’ll be anxious the whole time if you don’t. I took it twice, so… Yeah.</p>
<p>It sounds like you have a good preliminary list of schools. Plan to visit them. Some schools may go off the list after a visit. As you start to understand the type of boarding school experience you want, you may add a few more schools.</p>
<p>Can you take a good practice SSAT test now? You could also sit for the SSAT this school year. You want to be certain that your SSAT is within range for your schools.</p>

<p>You say that your gpa for Middle School is 93%. If that continues for your 9th and 10th grade you will have lots of chances in more “challenging” schools. Also, if you need lots of FA it may be better not to apply to repeat a year.</p>
