For some stupid reason, I chose Engineering as my major. :c I’m afraid that I won’t get in now, as the major requires higher standards. My stats aren’t that great to begin with. I, in fact, got deferred from OSU not too long ago, so I now have to wait until the end of march to hear back. What scares me most is that not many people deferred get in and others who are deferred have way higher stats than I do. Is this a sign that I won’t get in? Also, can I get into the school, even if I don’t get into my selected major?
First Generation//Met EA-deferred
UW GPA: 3.2 :c
W GPA: 3.6
First composite SAT: 1770 :c
Second Composite SAT: 1920
Composite ACT: 26 :c
Many honors and some AP’s throughout my High School career.
I’ve already gotten into UPitt, Purdue and UC, but i’m not interested in any of those schools as much. :
Chance me? Thanks!
Edit: I’m an in-state resident by the way.
True, you are a little low in grades and ACT for direct admission to OSU’s college of engineering. However, you should be able to get into OSU via general admission.
If you do not get into OSU, then I would recommend Pitt over Purdue, and only go to UC if you cannot afford the other two. Just my two cents worth. :-"
I think if you were OOS your chances would be better. Just what I’m seeing in the OSU threads.
