i wonder if you claimed “legacy,” they would look to see if the legacy ever donates to the school. I know an IS having similar GPA to the OP but took the SAT instead. He got 1250. Both his parents are legacy. He applied to econ dept three years ago. rejected. From the mouth of the parents they never donated to the school.
I guess couldn’t hurt - but legacy in its own I believe can help. But from what you hear its if you get into the maybe pile that it can help get you over top vs. someone who isn’t - - not a strong part of the process.
actually a more determining factor in the person with 4.0 and middle of road 1250 - - in state probably will get in - out of state more iffy.
If OP is instate they should be good with that high an ACT (which is in the 1400 neighborhood SAT equiv.)
