Hello everyone! Please chance me as I’m really nervous about applying to college!
Major: Public Relations
CSU GPA: 3.36
SAT (Critical Reading + Math ONLY): 1300
Location: In-state, Sacramento
Attended a competitive high school and had three D’s in Sophomore year, but made it all up in Summer and Junior Year so those aren’t in the GPA. So I had an upward trend from sophomore year to junior year.
My target school is: San Jose State University. It’s the only college that actually has a good public relations major degree.
Other schools I’m applying to is SDSU, CSUF, Chico State.
What do you think my percentage of chance is to these schools listed? From 0-100%?
Chico State: 70%
CSUF/SJSU: 60%
SDSU: 30%
What about Sac State as your safety?
@Gumbymom man, thought I’d least have 70% chance at SJSU :(. The wait is killing me.
About Sac State, I’d rather go to CC and transfer than go to Sac State and live at home for four more years while going to college.
You are a Senior or Junior? I am asking since you stated “the wait is killing me.” I assumed you are a Junior so I posted 60% because the EI thresholds can fluctutate from year to year. You meet the Threshold this year but if you are applying next year, it may be higher or then again lower. Chancing is really useless so take all my results and anyone else’s with a grain of salt. Admissions will decide whom to accept or deny, not a bunch of CC posters. CC posters only can give their best guess.
Your stats generate an Eligibily Index of nearly 4000. Assuming you’ve calculated your GPA correctly and you’ve completed your a-g courses with C or better, you’ll sail into Chico, Fullerton and SJSU.
SJSU posts their threshold each year. Last year, the PR threshold was 3350 - you are well above that.

Chico is looking for about 3700 and Fullerton about the same.
SDSU - probably not - as they typically draw the line around 4100.
So, I’ll go
Chico, Fullerton, SJSU 90%+ and SDSU 30% or so.
Good luck
@NCalRent Thank you, the only thing I’m worried about is that SJSU’s new threshold for Fall 2015 is 3750…
