chance me please. :D

My high school:
It is super small. THere are like 9000 applicants, but only 110 get in. We have a 100% college acceptance rate (but it has been dropping i think). The kids dont get into great schools. Lots of SUNYs, some NYU, a lot of POSSE scholars though (like 4, but thats like 4% of the graduating class), some CUNYs (my school is affliated with one). I think we had like 3 kids get into Ivies, I know one couldnt go because they were under a binding schlorship (sucks :/)

It has a silver award according to the website that rates schools.

RUMOR IS: It would be specialized if it was bigger.

I have a 91.43% AVERAGE:
Math - 94
Global - 90
Art - 90
Writing Arts - 90
Spanish - 91
Global Lit - 93
Chemisty - 92

According to the scale:
4.0 -- 93% and up
3.7 -- 90% and up
3.3 -- 85% and up
....

I have a 3.78. I dont know what is the GPA system in my school, but I am taking college courses this summer and thats the grade system they use.

I took a colelge course (BUSINESS1000) at BAruch CUNY and i recieved a 91%
I plan to take more.

On my practice SATs I score:
MATH- 620
WIRTING -630
CR- 520
TOTAL- 1760

i plan to score higher...

EC (I think this is a strong suit of mine. this is what its gonna be by the time i apply):
-- Korean Traditional Dance/ INstruments : 4 years
-- Lorax Club : 2 years
-- Student Gov't: 2 years
-- Softball Varsity: 1 year
-- Wrestling Team Manager :1 year
-- Volunteer at Thrift Shop: 20 hours
-- Volunteer at some like youth group: I plan to get 100 hours this year
-- Film Club: 2 years
-- Tutor: I dont know, I gonna start tutoring

I am trying to get my writing published at Teenink, so I can say i got it published.

Now here is the problematic part:
I have no APs.
In Sophomore and Freshman year my school did not offer any.

In Junior year, they only offered: Art, Global and English.
I applied to english but I was rejected. The APs in my school are difficult to get into because I am competing with the rising juniors and rising seniors. Priority is given to the seniors because thats their last opportunity.
I wasnt insterested in any of the APs, I wanted something that is science or math related. I plan to apply in senior year.

To make up for the lack of APs, I decided to self study for the test.
AP statistics and AP _____ (idk yet)

On the bright side: All of my classes are Honors (but thats for every single student)

No IB diplomas are offered.

colleges:
i was looking into the USC - RHP so please tell me if i have a chance at that.

but otherwise
i have no idea where i want to go.

I really wanted to go to UCberkley, but i figured i am probably not a strong candiadate (please comment on this)

NYU Stern is another option. My sisters go to NYU, so i am hoping that might help.
USC is like my top choice.
Baruch CUNY is a safety, CUNY honors would be a definite reach

gahhhhh -- please help me find some matches and safeties for me.

bumpppp

oh and my SAT score should be over 2000 by the time i acutally take it

what is that 9000 applicants thing? seems like a big school, i guess...

^
sorry, i meant like we have 9000 applicants, but every year there are only 110 seats. so my school has about 450 kids.

Don't worry about the no APs. My school is rather similar in that there are very few APs offered and the most ever taken was 6 (by a valedictorian in one of the best graduating classes). Colleges will read your school profile/letter from your guidance counselor and will realize that your school does not offer many AP courses. As long as you take like 2-3 in senior year, you should be fine.

Is the Lorax Club what it sounds like (as in Dr. Seuss)? If so, that's awesome. :)

USC-RHP: This is like getting into Harvard. I would say that you have a very slim chance

UCBerkeley: You are OOS, so getting into UCB is about as difficult as getting into a lower Ivy. Unless you have a 2200+ on the SAT and your GPA goes way up, your chances aren't so awesome. Definitely apply though. You never know!

USC regular admissions (i.e. during senior year) would definitely be possible for you.

hahha lorax club is like the enviromental club.

btw, are there any colleges that i should look into? ia m probably writing this in the wrong section.
