bump

Haha, you saw I responded to your thread and rushed to see what I posted. Well I got news for you: I’m not gonna chance you.

Using the internet as a veil to showcase your undesirable personality, I see.

To everyone else: I promise I’m not a mean person, I’m just tired, stressed, and not in the mood.

Your activities should help a LOT for harvard if you play it up in your essay, and since you’re URM you have a good shot at HYPSM. just make sure to spend time on your supplemental essays
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1579580-chance-me-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

You look very strong homie

You look very competitive and your hook (URM) really helps. I honestly think you have the ability to get into any of the schools on your list, just interview well and write good essays and I think you’ll be very happy in mid-December! Good luck! Chance back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1577460-chance-blue-devil-duke-ed-hopeful-receive-chance-return-2.html</a></p>

You have very strong stats and I honestly think you have a good chance with any of those colleges. You have a lot of ECs which will also help. Good luck!!
Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-south-florida/1579757-chances-usf.html</a></p>

You have a very good shot, but that’s still 1:10 to 1:8. So while UMass Amherst’s Commonwealth Honors College would likely welcome you with open arms (apply fast), you could apply to a few schools that would be considered matches in that their admission rates are higher than the others on your list, while requiring high stats. How about Carleton or Grinnell? Or Emory?
But please, stop stressing. You’ll get into quite a few schools. :)

I would say Low reach for Harvard (which is very very rare). You have an amazing r

Thank you everyone for the chances! Obviously I do not expect too much, given that admissions to these schools is so selective, but your kind words have put a smile on my face! And I have chanced you all back!

@MYOS1634, Thank you for the school suggestions! And I have already applied to UMass Amherst, so hopefully I’ll get into their honors program. And lastly, I’ll try my best to stop stressing. Thank you for the encouragement! :)

If you stop using the word Homey, you’re future should be very bright. GL

look youre cool as hell and super accomplished, don’t worry im sure you’ll be pleased with your results.
congrats on literally everything

@themoonchild, Thank you. :)

@sosomenza, Decisions, decisions…

You look solid with that AMAZING GPA. You have a shot at all these schools. Best of Luck to You. ;)

Chance Back Please! :)

What are you planning on focusing on? Reason I ask is some of the schools don’t seem to match with each other (UMass Amherst???). My guess is because it’s IN STATE.
IB’s rate very high. Most challenging blah blah blah.
Bottom 4 are total safeties (plenty of merit $$). HYP&Duke are right there but are so selective, depending on what the rest of the class looks like, I’d say your good for 3 of 4.
The other 4 are where I’d expect the MOST rejections (maybe 2) trying to protect yield #'s.

Again, just my 2 cents. and best o’ luck

-Harvard University-reach
-Brown University-low reach
-Yale University-reach
-Princeton University-reach
-Duke University-low reach
-Johns Hopkins University-high match/low reach
-Washington University in St. Louis-match
-Vanderbilt University-match
-George Washington University- safety
-Northeastern University-safety
-Boston College-low match/match
-UMass Amherst-safety

i’m from MA also. chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1550440-chance-me-washu-bu-nyu-vanderbilt-etc.html</a></p>

UPDATE: 800 in Math 1 and 800 in Math 2.

Thank you all for your opinions and chances! I’ll chance you back right now!

@nystocktrader, You hit the nail right on the head! The main reason I’m applying to UMass Amherst is because it is an in-state-safety. Also, I noticed you said Brown would be one of those trying to protect yield #'s. It’s actually one of my top schools, so do you think my chances would increase if I was able to articulate just how much I love the school in my “Why Brown?” essay?

Not only should articulate your reasons well in your “why Brown” essay, but also get in touch with admissions, send an email with a few questions (of the “smart” type, not information that can easily be found on the website), etc.

Congratulations on that double 800! :)

@MYOS1634, Thank you for the advice! I’ll try to reach out to my area admissions rep. And thank you for the congratulations! :D
