Stanford is the crapshoot of crapshoots.
That said,

Columbia- you have a shot!
Cornell- you have an even better shot!
Princeton- eh. iffy.
Northwestern- In.
UC Berkeley-you have a shot!
Georgia Tech-in
University of Michigan-in
Purdue University- probably in!

I think you are in to Purdue, Northwestern, Michigan, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley for sure

I would say the ivies+ Stanford are about a 50/50 chance, simply because its very hard to gauge if you’ll be accepted into these schools as they always admit different types of students. Good Luck!

For the state schools you listed (except for maybe berkley) I’d say you’re extremely competitive. Michigan is an amazing school and in international rankings is above several ivies (including some on your list such as Cornell) and I’d say you have a very good chance of acceptance there. The private schools are less certain and I’d say what’d be a determining factor is if you really accentuated your scientific passions cause I feel like you must be talented and love it but in your short description I couldn’t really tell. The small things will probably make the biggest difference with those. Good luck

Wow thanks for all the responses guys! In response to the above poster, I am definitely passionate about science. Science classes are always pretty easy to me and I really want to pursue a career related to science. My essays will most likely have some sort of tie in with my scientific passion and I have been trying to fond more ways to demonstrate this passion. Thanks to you all again for chancing and if you are reading this, please chance me and I’ll chance you back!

Hey guys! This summer I will be volunteering at a local children’s science museum rather than doing research at Bowling Green. Is this an equal trade off or should I still attempt to find some research in the beginning of the school year and throughout the year?

I like all the optimism everyone is giving you, but realistically you’re looking at something like this

Stanford-Crapshoot/BIG reach w/o that 34 or even with a 34
Columbia-High reach
Cornell- (almost high) reach
Princeton-…I hate Princeton
Northwestern-Reach (Careful here, NU is getting stingier w/ admissions every year)
UC Berkeley-Reach
Georgia Tech-Match
University of Michigan-High Match
Purdue University-Match (with that 34)

Your stats are good. Just try to write good essays and you should definitely get into Northwestern. Stanford and the Ivies will be a lot more difficult. Try to emphasize the thing at the university that youre doing over the summer. Good luck!

GA Tech- match
Purdue- safety
University of Michigan- match
UC Berkeley- high match
Northwestern- high match-low reach
Stanford- super high reach (ECs suck, sorry)
Columbia- High Reach
Princeton- Super High Reach
