Chance me please? (Junior)

Out of state, from Maryland.
Ethnicity: Caucasian.

UW GPA: 3.62 at the worst, but will most likely be 3.71 or higher
Weighted GPA: 4.5 Worst case scenario, 4.6 is more likely.

SAT: Haven't taken it yet, but I've scored consistently above the 2000 mark on all the practice tests and my PSATs. I'm expecting in the 21-2200 range.

I'm a phenomenal writer.

Courseload (all 4 years)

My county uses GT courses between honors and AP. They're essentially AP minus the test, but with the full 5.0 weighting, so it goes

AP
GT
Honors

9 AP classes, 10 GT classes, and two honors classes. Averaged an A in all of the AP classes except Calculus, where I am fighting between a B and a C.

Extras

4 years of XC
~150 service hours
Published in the journal of the American Cichlid (type of fish) Association at age 13 (with almost zero edits)
Subsequently won member of the year for my work on the article.
Raised and bred endangered species of cichlids for four years

Work experience: two years as a leadership camp counselor.

I know, when the time comes, that the people I pick for recommendation letters will do a fantastic job- they've all written their share, and they all like me.

Assuming I don't spontaneously stop caring and let my grades tank, will I get in with my worst-case scenario?

Thanks!

You should be fine with 2000 and 3.6.
GPA is still the most important factor though, so you never know.

Also, I’m a first degree black belt, and was actively involved in taekwondo since 5th grade.

You’re fine (: You could consider applying for Honors.
Your grades are somewhat comparable to a lot of applicants, and your essays are going to be the eye-catchers.

Admissions Statistics (no GPA, though):

*Though you might want to consider an in-state college of your own. Out-of-state applicants have less priority for entrance.

Good luck!
