I am senior, who is going to apply to universities this summer. But I am honestly only interested in going to Michigan. I moved here from India when I was in 9th grade.
My GPA is around 3.5.
SAT score is 1600.
ACT score is 24/ ..writing score is 8/12
I play guitar, exceptionally good at art, really good at badminton.
I live in texas and I know it's gonna be really expensive to live in Michigan and all. My mom is a teacher at a montessori school and my dad ditched my mom when I was in India like 3 years old. My mom has a really low wage to take care of herself and me. So, is there a possibility of me getting a grant or scholarship to pay all my tuitions?
Also, Would I be accepted in MSU if i write really good essays? What should I do?

Just to clarify- you know that there is a difference between Michigan and MSU right?

Anyway, both your ACT and your GPA are in the middle 50%, but on the low side. Are you going to be applying as a resident or as an international student? It makes a difference, both in terms of admission and in ability to pay.

You could probably get in with those stats as long as you apply really early and write killer essays. However, I must caution you. MSU will most likely not give you very good financial aid. If you are an international, you probably won’t get any aid at all. You are looking at a good $35k-$45k a year price tag to go to MSU out of state or out of country. As much as I love MSU, it is really not worth taking on $100k+ debt to go here. You can only get a full-ride scholarship to MSU if you win the ADS scholarship. You will not since you need to be invited and you don’t have the stats to qualify :/. Unless you win some major outside scholarships, it is not going to be any kind of realistic price.

Best of luck!

Do I have a chance w/ a 3.45 gpa and a 21 on the ACT?

probably i dont know about mine? O_O

lol you’re good, except the resident thing.
