Essay/Personal Statement:
My essays and personal statement were amazing (As I've been told). I talked about how my GPA doesn't define who I am in my personal statement. I talked about my cutural background and family hardships and how that effected me throughout high school in my essays and it came out really well.

I know it may be a far reach but is there any hope for me at all? I'm curious to know. I do have backup colleges that I've gotten into (Baylor and Colorado Boulder) and I also applied to some more far reaching schools as well.

Bump…

Char

More towards reach. Your stats are in the bottom 25% for both categories, though being a URM and from Texas will likely give you a boost.

The bigger issue for you is going to be cost. MSU does NOT give good FA to those OOS. Even IS, I had a lower family income than you and the package wasn’t great.

Best of luck though :)

Your scores are in the ranges for recruited athletes. They are a tad bit lesser than what is needed.
^as said by romanigy you wont be getting a very awesome FA package. Still no harm in waiting for the decision…
In the meantime, you could try the ACT or so… Many students do better on a different exam…

my friend was just rejected with similar stats, but I hope you get in!
