<p>I’ve applied early decision so my fate is probably sealed by now, but I’m still freaking out!
GPA/HPA: 3.7
Rank: School doesn’t rank
SAT: didn’t send
SAT2: Bio (9th grade): 730, math 1(10th grade) 670, Literature (11th) 730
ACT: 32 </p>

<p>Hooks: Speak chinese, and have been learning it for 5 years (am white, from america), recognized by national merit scholarship assoc. Love medicine and biology, but also very much interested in english (ie, why barnard is perfect for me)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: National Honor society, Science research (4 years researching a specific subject of my choice, spent two summers in manhattan hospital: scrubbed in on 3 surgeries before i was 17) Babysitting, 6 tutoring jobs, volunteer tutoring for less fortunate, politcal activism group for LGBT at my school, 2 summers spent at Duke university taking classes, part editor of school art/fashion magazine</p>

<p>Essay/ Supplement: how my science research and my time in the hospital has given me insight</p>

<p>Awards: National honor society, national merit scholar recognition (not a finalist or semifinalist)</p>

<p>Community Service: in 8th grade, raised 500 dollars for American Cancer society, 2 years spent 2 hours a week tutoring for free. </p>

<p>AP Scores: Physics B: 3 (only one taken so far, my school doesnt allow AP until junior year, and then you can only take 2)</p>

<p>Senior Yr sched: AP Bio, AP AB calc, Chinese 5 (college level), Contemporary Literature, AP Gov, Art of Film, Science research period</p>

<p>I feel like the Barnard board really doesn’t do “chances” since none of us (especially us students who are in the same boat as you) have the authority to do so and chances threads just increase stress.
But if you’re looking for reassurance, I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t take you. Statistically it looks like a match.
Take comfort in knowing there’s nothing else you can do now. All we can do now is wait…

<p>I’m with Jaden on this one. 6 more days. I’m sure you just did this to get it all out there and off your chest (I’m still too paranoid to do so myself). You seem focused and driven and, well, that’s Barnard for you. :)</p>
