<p>asides from those schools please feel free to suggest additional schools that might be match or safety for me! </p>

<p>I'm applying for 11th grade, planning to board (I'm from the northwest) will need financial aid and if possible merit scholarships.</p>

<p>Academics:
4.0 GPA, grades pretty much all mid 90's, some A+'s and A-'s. </p>

<p>PSAT:
critical reading- 61/80, 94 percentile
math-59/80, 89 percentile
writing- 69/80, 99 percentile
(I only have the online report, so no overall percentile/scores)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars
Clubs:
French Club- 2 years, President 1 year
DECA (business) club- 1 year</p>

<p>Community Service:
Peer Tutor (English)- 1 year
Teen Docent at museum- 2 years, mentor this year
Teen Art Council also at museum- 2 years</p>

<p>Other:
Flute- 4 years, weekly private lessons, flute orchestra 1 year
Tennis- 2 years, independent tennis team
Recreational Ski- 2 years, seasonal weekly lessons
Badminton- 1 year (freshmen year, do not plan to continue), JV team</p>

<p>Hook(?)
moved to the states from international schools in Hong Kong and Taiwan, fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. </p>

<p>Writing used to be pretty strong, very bad english program at current school, lack of practice, writing skills really rusted. </p>

<p>Most likely average (if not weak) recommendations. Not much of a relationship with counselor and math and english teachers. </p>

<p>i don’t know, seems to be one of the weaker applications on the site. I’m not familiar with the schools, but I do hope they’re not nearly as competitive as HADES because then you’d have to be counting on a miracle. Not many awards, especially for a person living in America. ECs are weak, good academics though I guess. Try to ace the essay. :D</p>

<p>thanks for the honesty :slight_smile: i havent included any of the HADES schools in my choices, they’re mostly tier 3ish schools. </p>

<p>what could i do right now to improve on my ECs, like in what way are they weak? not enough leadership positions or years…? </p>

<p>i have awards of recognition from the teen docent program, JV badminton last year and my artwork was chosen for display last year also. in this summer creative writing seminar my poem was also in the anthology, though i wasn’t sure about including that in my application.</p>

<p>i’d say lacking awards, lacking time, thus lacking depth. Nothing you can do about them right now, so again, nothing you can do except ace the essay.</p>
