I’ve been doubting myself because of the classes that I have taken (I have been on the Computer Science Degree plan). My plan is to transfer into COLA undecided and get all A’s and transfer to Mccombs to pursue Management Information Systems.

All Thoughts and comments are welcome

“My plan is to transfer into COLA undecided and get all A’s and transfer to Mccombs to pursue Management Information Systems.”

Please don’t do this if you’re not actually willing to get a degree from the College of Liberal Arts. Internal transfers to McCombs are quite rare.

^What they said. The university is really trying to dissuade people from doing what you’re describing. Not saying it’s impossible, just saying you need to have a backup plan.

As for your stats, I’d say they’re pretty decent for COLA. Really good GPA, but no ECs, I’m assuming? I’m not sure how much weight they put on them for transfer students, but not having them could be a problem. Good luck regardless!

Take as much Math as you can before transferring.

You need 3 Calculus classes for MIS, and believe me, Calculus at CC is much easier than at UT. Since you are currently on College Algebra level it is going to be the biggest challenge.
Take 2 Math classes this summer, Summer 1 and Summer 2. Take Micro- and Macroeconomics at CC.

Apply to UT AFTER THAT, with Calculus (preferably MATH 408/308M) and both Economics.

You can transfer from CC to UT with any number of credits. You cannot do internal transfer at UT if you have more than 60 hours.

If you transfer to COLA, you will stay in COLA, by the time you get all your Math prerequisites you will have too many credit hours, you’ll never make it to Business.

Thank you all for the comments. I went ahead and applied to keep my opportunities open. If i do stay at CC should I take extra curricular? Any advice is helpful to better my chances for business school! I just need guidance on what to do. Thanks!

Any additional advice can be given when you have your Math grades, plural.
