Chance me please: UCSD Winter 2010

<p>I just applied a few days ago for UCSD Winter 2010 (submitted on the 31st). I want to know what my chances are for getting in. Thanks :)</p>

<li><p>Major: History</p></li>
<li><p>Will be IGETC certified by the end of this summer. </p></li>
<li><p>GPA: 3.67</p></li>
<li><p>I'm finishing my math requirement this summer, and I am also taking another UC transferable course so that I will have 61 units by the end of this summer. Worse case scenario, I will get a C in the math, but probably a B. I will get an A in the other course for sure. </p></li>
<li><p>Major prerequisites completed, and I am going to take more history classes this fall. </p></li>
<li><p>EC's - Not too impressive. I did list some things I did in high school. During CC, I just worked for a year or so. </p></li>
<li><p>My essays were great, although I don't think UCSD looks into them that much. </p></li>
<li><p>Somewhat older transfer, 22 years old.</p></li>
<li><p>I had a very rough start in community college. I've been there for four years. Semesters from fall 2005-fall 2007 were pretty disastrous with W's. My last 3 semesters are great though. All A's and B's, no drops. </p></li>
<li><p>Overall W's - 23 :( I explained them in my essay. </p></li>
</ul>

<p>Other stats:</p>

<li><p>One parent has a 4-year degree</p></li>
<li><p>Will not need any financial aid</p></li>
</ul>

<p>Will I get in? I know my GPA is great, i'm just worried about the W's and taking so long at CC. </p>

<p>Not sure I would say your gpa is “great” but it’s pretty good. 23 Ws is killer. I would say 50/50.</p>

<p>The W’s will look bad but the most important factors for a transfer student are GPA and pre-reqs. Your gpa for ucsd is more than enough to get you in and you have completed the pre-reqs for your major so I think you have a good chance of being accepted. Explaining the crazy amount of w’s in your personal statement in definitely a wise choice.</p>

<p>see no reason why you shouldn’t get in, the W’s look bad but if there’s a good reason for them then it shouldn’t matter.</p>

<p>UCSD Winter is TAG only. So none of that matters if you just fulfill the requirements for TAG.</p>
