Chance Me Please: UPenn, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon

Hi!

I'm currently a junior, looking at applying to UPenn, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, and NYU. I'm planning to major in international business.

Stats:

SAT: 1740 1st time
SAT breakdown: (only took it once, very distracted due to relationship issues, terrible nonetheless)
M: 550
W: 600
CR: 590

Gpa: 4.0 unweighted GPA, 4.25ish weighted

Senior Courseload: Ap Lit, Ap Gov, Ap Calc AB, Ap US History

Ap Scores: World History 4, taking Econ and Eng Lang in May

Extracurriculars: FBLA Vice President, NHS treasurer, Youth Group Secretary, Girl Scouts secretary, Soccer 13 years, Club soccer team captain 2 years, started a summer camp for kids whose parents don't really have time for them, a few other clubs that I'm a member of, worked 25hrs/wk 3 years to pay bills

Volunteer: 300+ hours coaching soccer, 100 hours American Heart Association, 150 hours American Trauma Society, volunteer at MDA camp, organized Community Halloween Night for safe trick or treating

I'm a white female from a low income family <40,000 with a story that'll probably count as something too. (Raising sisters, dealt with violence)

I know my SAT scores suck, but I'm studying at least 10 hours a week until the June one.

Okay, your GPA is obviously on track. Try to increase your weighted if possible. The only huge problem I see with your application is that you lack a decent SAT score. If you want to go to a school in that tier, you need to get a 2200+. If that’s a little difficult, try the ACT and shoot for a 32+.
another problem is that your school become higher than anticipated cause I’m assuming you’ll be applying for stern in nyu, and Wharton in Penn. Those are the hardest of the lot. a commitment to business will be needed with strong math background.

Goodluck!

Those are all seemingly impossible. Really try to get at least around a 2100 on the SAT or take the ACT and get around a 31-34 minimum

Like a lot of others, your ECs have nothing to do with your major.

^agree, really try to boost those test scores
Chance me,
GPA: 3.72 W (4.6667 scale, 4.6667 being A+ and 4.3333 being A)
ACT:25
Strong extracurriculars considering I will apply to the business schools at the following:
Purdue
Penn state: university park (smeal)
Wisconsin- Madison
UCONN
James Madison
PITT

Alright, so basically SAT. Thanks, I’m hoping I’ll have a better day on the next one.
