I already made a thread but I want to see my chances for these out of states?

I live in Virginia

GPA: 3.891

SAT 1
Math: 680
CR: 600
Writing: 610

SAT 2
Math II: 620
US History: 680

AP
Computer Science: 3
Environmental Science: 4
Us History: 3
In Progress: Calculus BC, Biology, Government

Extracurriculars:
National Honor Society
Key Club
Science Olympiad
JV Football
ECHO Volunteer: An organization that provides assistance, such as financial support, to families.
Burke basketball: A competitive house league that varsity players participate in.

Your SAT I scores are a bit low to prove yourself as a competitive out-of-state applicant, you want at least mid to high 600's across the board. GPA is good, but your ECs don't really show a passion for anything and seem really sporadic. Just make sure that your essays shine.

UVA- Low reach
UT Austin- Low match
UMich- Match

I am going to have to disagree with disaster's thoughts. I think UVA is going to be a low reach and UT Austin a slightly higher reach, with UMich being a mid-reach. It is insanely hard to get into Austin OOS.

Someone on CC found the stats for OOSers applying to UT-Austin, I'll copy them here

ok found the stats for OOSer...in '07 they had 4,321 OOS applications...they admitted 1,479 (34% of those who applied)...their average SAT score was 1280 (combined verbal and math).

That's pretty much what I based that decision on.

Most schools are going to be forced to base your acceptance on your gpa because your test scores and EC's aren't very good. I would say that UVA is highly unlikely, and would suggest you applying to JMU to be even safer than Tech. As for the other two they are probably both low reaches, but a reach nonetheless.
