Hey everyone.

I'm an international student from France and I am starting my second year of college. I am studying at Portland State University but really want to transfer somewhere else where I could get a better education. The thing is, my HS years were not the greatest. Not terrible but not fantastic. Probalbly around a 2.5 GPA. I still graduated by passing the french Baccalaureat with "assez bien" honors. Anyway, I realize I screwed up my high school and now I know what I want. That's why I wish to transfer from Portland into a better institution. Can you tell me if I can reach my dream school: University of Wisconsin - Madison. I have to send my application in december so they will, unfortunatly, only have my first year grades.

College GPA: 3.82 after one year (quarters), 47 credits (Calc 1&2, Stat1, Spanish 101,102,103, Econ 201, 202 micro/macro, and the Freshman inquiry 101,102,103 that's pretty much writing). I also got Dean's list for the 2d term and president's list for the 3d.

SAT's: 590 in math, 540 in CR, 450 in WR but I was still in France when I took them so I was not fluent yet.

Not so much extracurricular, I'm a member of the Econ club and international student org.
I tutored in french for a year and I have a job with a Financial adviser this summer.

What do you think of my chances of getting to U of Wisconsin?

Thanky you so much.
