chance me PLEASE

I'm sorry I'm just so anxious I really want to go to Princeton. Do you think I'll get in?

SATs: over 2200 (CR only 680 though)
SAT2s: Math1 750, Math2 670, History 700
Rank: 1
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
APs: two 4s and one 3
taking two more APs this year
white male, lives in tri-state area

Extracurriculars: NHS president, 4 yrs student council, 4yrs drama club (leads this year), peer tutoring, work 16 hrs per week

oh and solid essays, teacher recommendations from 2 ladys who adore me

SAT is good, except I’d bring the CR up to at least a 700. Princeton prefers Math II, so your “legit” SAT II scores would hurt you (you want two 750+). Your extracurriculars look fine, on paper, but how have you gone the extra mile to make a difference in those activities? What accomplishments have you made? What passion do you have for them? Have you been the best NHS President in recent years or one of the most effective Student Council Presidents? Do your activities tie in with your academic interests? Or do you just sit on your butt and please people while gaining support for fluff leadership positions? Answering these questions in your application is what is key, more so than the quantity of activities and leadership positions you hold. On a side note, your job commitment is definitely interesting in some respects.

Either way, numerically you’re sort of below average in the Princeton RD pool. You’re not out - you just have to make sure your essays and extracurriculars make you an appealing candidate who has the demonstrated character, passion, motivation, and achievement to make yourself a viable addition to the Princeton community.

you’re going to have to give us more info. what makes you unique? what makes you better than the thousands of applicants who look just like you?

Your alright but that is not good enough, especially being over represented.

I hope you have several matches and safeties on your school list because it’s not that likely for you with Princeton. You’re alright, but not above average in anyway.

Your test scores and GPA’s are ok, but a 670 on Math II will hurt you (like decillion said). Your APs are ok, but not impressive.

I think your ECs need to be stepped up a gear for a good shot. I mean, you have to be a “good” leader, not just “a leader”. I hope you represented yourself well on the essay.
