Alrighty. I have completed my apps to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, and UC San Diego.
I have a weak SAT score, 1860 :/. I know it's not the best but here's some other stuff
I am going to be Valedictorian out of more than 500 kids (whoot! Lets hope I didn't jinx it)
And perhaps you ask yourself, "How'd a girl with a score of 1800 become a valedictorian?" To be honest, I don't know. There are plenty of other people with like 2000 scores who rank after me, so don't go thinking that I come from some bum school. Not bad for a first generation college student, huh?
In total, I have enrolled in 11 AP classes. I have passed all 6 of my ap exams with a score of three or better :D
I have a few ecs... not impressive really. But, I'll work with what I got!
If it helps I am also a Cali resident who is a Mexican American.

Little side note:
If I don’t get admitted into any of the UCs I applied to, I am considering taking the presidential scholarship for one of the two CSUs I applied for. I am also going to apply for the presidential scholarship at CSU Long Beach.
I was also a Questbridge finalist! I didn’t get matched though (just got the notification today). I would like to be a Quest scholar, so I’m going to apply through regular decision.

I don’t know what financial aid packages would be best, or which school will give me the most money, but I’ll probably go to one that is easy to pay off (either through grants or scholarships). Since I plan on becoming a psychiatrist or some other kind of doctor, I don’t want to raise my debts super high after I finish undergraduate school. I mean, how important is it to graduate from a top school as an undergraduate if I plan on pursuing an upper grad degree? Those top schools are pretty expensive…

Bump…
Please respond. Honestly too. I won’t get my feelings hurt.

Bump.
Can’t you see I’m desperate?

Alright, lets be pragmatic about this. UCLA is probably a low-ish reach, as even though you are valedictorian and probably are intelligent, your SAT score will bring you down in terms of competitiveness. Not to be rude, but im confident you couldve scored better. Anyways, Berkley is just a crapshoot unless you have outstanding academic excellence. Once again, if you think this post is sounding pretty jerky, please note this is not my intention. The rest of the UCs im not that familiar with but they are for sure within the math to high match range.

Please chance me back , i actually responded to you!!!

UCB: Reach
UCLA: Reach
UCSD: High match
UCD: Match

Try the ACT and test-optional schools (if you can afford Bates or Bowdoin, try those schools)

Well, thanks.
I’ve taken the SAT twice, and both turned out to be in the 1800s. Yeah, I agree, but I’ve never been good at the critical reading portion. The math was easy, but everything else sucked. Thanks for the response once again.

The deadline has passed for the ACTs. I’m pretty much just stuck with what I got.
I think I’ll apply to Bowdoin since that was a questbridge partner school.

First off, UC Berkeley and LA are a reach but SD and Davis are a 100% match. Bytw 1860 isnt that bad, take it again. first time i took it i got a 1840, then a 2020, and finally a 2210. u never know, try harder and harder.

But, isn’t it too late to register for the SATs for admission? The next act is like in february i think and the december sat is tomorrow.
