I'm an internaional student.
Major: Industrial Engineering/Biomedical (which one do you think will I have more chance of getting accepted)
What are my chances in RPI?

Cumulative GPA is 86.9 unweighted
SAT I = Math 620 Writing 590 CR 490
Toefl iBT = 95

My class rank is probably around top 25% - 50%

One thing I'm worried about is my Math this first term in Grade 12 was 73.
But my math in the previous years were much higher. Around 84-93

Essay is very good
Recommendation letter from Physics teacher and Counselor is probably very good too

[] SAT Writing at 25th percentile for enrolled students
[] Both of the remaining scores a combined 160 points below that threshold
[] Bottom 5% for class rank compared to recent incoming students
[] Low scores in calculus

1% chance at best unless you come up with some ridiculous hook. I don’t think 3 years of physics, at least 2 of which are presumably calculus-free, can help that much. Likely it’ll just leave the admissions committee scratching their heads at your school’s physics curriculum.

Thanks I appreciate your honesty. I would have gotten a higher score than 73 in Calculus but the thing was I missed two quizess for some reason and I couldnt take them when I requested to. But 73 is 73 so youre most probably right. Ugh

Based on the information that you shared, RPI would be a “reach” school for you. However, there are other colleges where your odds would be better, and I would investigate those options to include when submitting applications.
