Thank you for chancing me!

I think you can get in

Your GPA is very high-Michigan looks at GPA as very important- your ACT isn’t too bad, but it may be low if you are looking at Engineering. Make sure you have strong essays, because Michigan specifically wants to what interests you about the school. Finally if you can I’d recommend applying EA for the sole reason that many who applied RD for the last two years have had to wait forever for their decision. For EA, my son found out in mid December.

You’ll probably get in. Michigan has always considered GPA to be the single most important factor in admissions by far, and lucky for you, this happens to be your strongest area. Your extracurriculars are also pretty strong, your course rigor is decent, your ACT is satisfactory, and you happen to be a Michigan resident. Of course Michigan and Michigan Engineering in particular can be quite competitive, but your stats are good enough that I don’t think you have much to worry about.

If your a bit paranoid and you want to boost your chances even further, you should probably retake the ACT, apply early, and take the initiative to get a leadership position or two in your extracurriculars.

Good luck!

I got into mechanical engineering with similar stats from out of state and from what I hear, instate is even easier. So I think you have a good chance. Just make sure you write good quality essays.
