2380 SAT I
800 US History, 740 European History, 730 Math 1 Sat II's
3.65 GPA (my gpa would be a lot better, but i had a lot of personal issues sophmore year, resulting in 3 B+'s) at really tough renowned private school, taking only a few honors classes until this year, my senior year, when i'll be taking all AP/Honors classses
my extracurriculars are that i'm really good at tennis and play for the tennis team, that i have done debate club, that i have done chess club, and that i went to governor's school.
i also want to major in econ/management/business.
please list your estimates of my % chances of acceptance
thx

bump please

I actually don't know why I'm responding to this, but you're in the running. You have about 10%+ chance of acceptance. You might also want to apply to Wharton. The SAT is simply beautiful.

You'd be a shoo-in (with a 2380) at NYU - Stern. It's excellent undergrad business.

However, I almost fear you're a troll. There is no SAT II in European History. I would know, I wanted to take one, but couldn't because it DNE.

i meant world history (it was largely european history)
my fault

also techy what would you chance me at wharton? i live right outside philly and my school is a feeder school into wharton and penn if that helps?

If you're in the top decile of your class, I'd say your chances are splendid. What did you do at this governor's school?

my school doesn't use or have class rank, and i studied urban education at governor's school. could you put a % guess for wharton? thx.

bump again

Wharton would be >15%. You've got to understand, you're an average applicant. At the end of average, but there is nothing particularly distinguished. A slightly higher chance than most. If you can, see if your counselor can unofficially report that you're in the top decile of your class. Though, the high SAT does (in some ways) justify the low GPA. Wharton does very much like high SAT scores thou, so it's more likely than Harvard. Keep working hard, and you'll find favorable results.

How accomplished are you in tennis and debate?

very good at tennis, not very good at debate. if i don't get into harvard or wharton though, its not the end of the world, maybe i'll be happier somewhere else; i think i've been stressing out too much over my college apps (cause my parents are freakishly worried)

i'm not quite good enough to play for harvard or penn in tennis though since i was injured for a year and got kind of fat (for tennis, at least). i would have been good enough for ivy league tennis 2 years ago but now i'm just a notch below.

also, thanks for being honest techy.

Excellent SAT, I hope I score that high. I think you could use more ECs, but the few things you've listed sound strong. Good luck.
