Hi everyone! I am an international student and I’m interested in applying moho in the early decision 1(with a large amount of financial aid).
Here’s my grades: a 101 TOEFL, a 1520 SAT, 3 AP(respectively got score of 3,4 and4) and an unweighted GPA of 3.8.
The extracurricular activities I’ve attended are interning at a local broadcasting station for two weeks, volunteering at animal shelter once a week for two years, volunteering in the library for a whole summer vacation, and being a leader of a reading club.
What are my chances to get into moho with financial aid?Does the amount of FA affect the accepted rate?
Sincerely thank anyone who replied!
No one knows – there are a million factors and MHC takes pride in looking carefully at each application. People with lower grades can be accepted if the admissions officer feels they’re a good fit and have something valuable to offer.
Unless you’re a top applicant, the amount of financial aid you need does matter. They have a budget and if your application is identical as someone else’s who not only isn’t asking for 50k/year but can pay it, they’ll probably take the other person.
That doesn’t mean if you need financial aid you need to be a top candidate, not at all. They look at your applications before looking at what you need for financial aid. But if you’re on the cusp, need (or lack thereof) can bump you one way or another.
If there is any way to interview I’d recommend it. Also I truly believe Mt Holyoke looks for really authentic essays.
Thanks so much for replying! That’s really helpful! I’m considering to ask for 40k/year. I know I’m not a top student but I’ll try my best!
Thanks for your recommendation, but there is no interview in my country currently. I’ll look at it if there’s any online interview. Thank you so much!
