chance me?--regular decision UGA

i do extra curricular activities and have been since freshman year. my gpa is a 4.0 but ive only taken 2 AP's and one honors course. my sat scores are the biggest joke on the planet with a 1550 on the 2400 scale.
im taking the sats two more times and hopefully they will be better. i just suck at testing.

so what are my chances of getting into georgia?

I think you’ve got a good chance bcause of that GPA. Try really hard to get ur SATS in the 1650-1700 range and i think ur a lock

thanks…i hope so. not feeling too confident to be honest. i just suck at standardized testing but i work really hard in school :/

Have you taken the ACT? Some people do better on that versus the SAT. I know there is an ACT test on October 10 – you may have to pay more to register for it or get on the wait list for it (regular registration has past), but it may be worth it. The questions are more straight forward than on the SAT.

i didnt do any better on that…
im so worried and i keep going on all these college websites, freaking out!
I WANNA GO TO GEORGIA!

Even if you don’t think you did any better on the ACT, be sure to send those scores to UGA as well because they will be able compare them to the SAT to see which ones are higher. If your ACT scores truly aren’t higher when compared to your SAT scores, then they won’t hold it against you, so it never hurts to send them anyway.

Also, be sure to write great essays! The great part about Regular Decision is that with essays and a teacher rec you get the opportunity to provide them with things other than grades and test scores. If you can squeeze in any more Honors and AP classes this coming semester then I would suggest doing that as well! It’s going to be tough, but if you really want to go to Georgia and you let that show in your essays and the classes that you take, then your chances for being admitted will definitely improve.

Good luck!

yeah taking more AP’s and honors is impossible. my classes for next semester are already set and with my school, theres no way you can change it because AP classes are full anyway. thanks for the advice though. i will try to get my sat score up.
