What do you think are my chances? My main concern is that I don't have many extracurriculars....

Nobody can give you anything realistic without seeing absolutely everything on your application, like your essays and recommendations. Sure your test score and GPA are well within range, but plenty of people with those stats get denied. Your schedule sounds plenty hard, but is it the most rigorous it could be? Volunteering weekly isn’t going to get you in; proving that you are passionate about that volunteer work will, and that’s what your essay is for. Vandy is a reach for everyone simply based on the scary-looking acceptance rate, so honestly, don’t worry so much about your chances. Just put everything you’ve got into that application and show them that you deserve a place there. That’s what would give you a decent shot at getting in.

musicgeek, based on a couple things you posted, I think you may be in my neck of the woods I’m not qualified to chance anyone, but your are definitely competitive based on your stats. Best of luck to you, though!

what nerdfighter said. You have done a great job in high school. Rest on that. Make sure your essays show depth of field in the ways you have used your time. Make a very strong readiness for a match college you can afford while also applying for reach colleges --which of course you have the strong record to do. Don’t think about more activities…convey your thought processes and growth.

Thanks. @nerdfighter23 its hard for me to say whether I took the most rigorous I could because I’m homeschooled so my options are pretty extensive, but I did take the most challenging math and science curriculum I could find. Thanks! @Belle315 and @faline2 I will focus on that!

@musicgeek97 Ah okay that changes things. I just mentioned it because I know they look at the classes you took and what was available, but since you’re home schooled I have no idea. Sounds like you’re fine though!

musicgeek, my D (freshman CV scholar at Vanderbilt) was also home schooled. Since it seems you and she have very similar experiences, may I pm you (or whatever they call that on this forum)? I can give you an idea of what my D did and maybe answer any specific questions you have about your application.
