In Singapore, guys have to do a mandatory 2-year national service before higher education (yea I know, lame), so that gives me an extra 2 cycles to apply. I’m applying this year for deferred entry in 2011, using, of course, the actual results of the Nov 08 IB exams.

Yea I did get a 45. There were 9 others that got 45/45 in my school though. It’s a pretty competitive school. The average person got 40.1 in the Nov 08 session. Basically anything below 40 would be below the 40th percentile.

Based on the good friends I know who went to Stanford or Wharton, Stanford seems to emphasize humanitarian/community service-type ECs whereas Wharton likes internships/entrepreneurship/leadership related activities.

For some strange reason, of the 7 or 8 people I’m referring to, they either got into one or the other, but not both.

SAT did not seem to be a big factor at either school, but I would still retake it if you think you can score higher

Chancing back…
Stanford: high reach
