Hi, i am a student from Bangalore India. Let me get straight down to biz.
SAT1 - 2170,
SAT2 - 800 -Math2, 800 -Physics

GPA -3.8 UW

EC:
Gold medalist at IRIS science fair. Largest in India.
Finalist at ISEF. A good chance at Second prize for CS.
Won the best project from state from the government of Karnataka.
Provisional patent for an airplane design. Working on it.

Definetely a brilliant essay in mind.
Also, since i may win something at ISEF will this compensate not having an Olympiad medal? Looking at MIT Too.

Here's my List
Cornell
MIT
Harvard
Yale
UPenn
UChicago
Northeastern U
Dartsmouth
Brown
Drexel

Also im applying for financial aid. So what are my chance for the Ratan Tata scholarship?

Well they’re reaches for everyone but especially for you as you’re an international applicant. However, you are academically competent and have decent ECs. Drexel you have a great shot at, but if you want a chance at the other you need to write an absolutely stellar essay.

I’d say everything on your list is a reach, except maybe Northeastern. You have great extracurriculars, and those awards seem fabulous. Try to raise your SAT score a little, to raise your chances. Just remember, the Ivies are a reach for EVERYONE. Good luck!

But people from my country get into Stanford and Harvard all the time. I thought i had a slightly better chance seeing how im the only one in the country who’s making it to ISEF in my age category. Is it the SAT score?

Harvard and Stanford routinely reject applicants with 4.0s and 2400.
You need to give a very compelling reason for turning down someone with 300 points higher than you so you get admitted.
That reason is just not there

so if I do get say a 2350+ what more do I need? in terms of ecs. Olympiads? btw I didn’t mention my leadership / community service stuff. I have founded a non-profit website that helps international students in bangalore receive financial aid.

I am an isef finalist so I’m going to LA in may for that. I conduct my CS research independantly. I think I’ve got a rather unique essay. I don’t what else could sell. how do I fare compared to other Indians?

Just keep in mind it’s a lot of luck in the end. It’s extremely hard for adcoms to select a class of ~2000 from a pool of 30k+ people. So chancing you really doens’t do much cause everyone has a chance, and no one’s guaranteed admission

You have the same probability as every other kid, cause Ivies are literally IMPOSSIBLE to predict. No one here can give you an accurate prediction. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in but I also wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t.

Also, don’t assume you can get a 2350 just cause you’ve started studying

While your SAT isn’t really helping your main problem is that you’re an international student applying for financial aid. Apart from the fact that international students are accepted at a lower rate than US nationals, international applicants are penalized for applying for financial aid so you’re going to be held to an even higher standard than the US kids and some of your international brethren.
Either way most of those schools are reaches for everybody so good luck.

but how do I fare against other Indians. some of my mates have been selected with low standardized test scores and non-existent ecs. I am working on my says and hope to get 2300+.
