Hey everyone! Sorry for this post but I really would appriciate if anyone could offer me realistic chances in transferring to: Barnard, GTown, BU, Boston College, Cornell, and NYU.
The short reason I want to transfer is primarily due to the lack of emphasis and opportunities involved political science (my major) and other related pre-law majors (it’s a heavy computer science and engineering school). There are a limited number of classes I can take as well as a limited amount of research opportunities and organizations I can join related to my major. Because so many of the students here are engineering and STEM related majors, I also have a hard time connecting with the students and have had a hard time finding common interests.
Stats:
College GPA: 3.8 Credits: 20 Major: Poly Sci and maybe a minor in Econ
ECs:
Freshman Senator in Student Gov
Freshman representative for our schools student dems club
Climate strike march organizer for my city (I helped organize the time and location for students to gather and start my city’s climate strike)
Published an Op-Ed on being biracial in America
Model UN
Co-started a podcast detailing current political issues to students via pop culture

I also have an internship with one of my state reps over the summer
Recs: Pretty solid. Mine come from my Econ, Rhetoric, and History professor who know me very well (I was very active in those classes)
HS GPA: 3.1 → I had a lot of personal hardships in HS and I’m trying to make up for it
ACT: 31 Superscore: 32
ECs:
Attended a conference at Georgetown that taught about a hundred students the basics of trial law and gave us cases to argue at the DC district courts)
Head Lifeguard
Varsity Swim Captain
Student Ambassador
March For Our Lives volunteer
Swim Instructor to kids ages 3-8
Cancer marathon organizer (I helped organize a marathon to raise money and awareness to low income cancer patients, we raised around $8000)
Combined comm service hours: around 300
I apologize for the length of this post and I would really appreciate any feedback or chances to those schools (Barnard, GTown, BU, Boston College, Cornell, and NYU). Thank you!
