Chance me- Transferring from American University

I’m currently a freshman at American University beginning the process of transferring for the Fall of 2018. I am currently undeclared in the College of Arts and Sciences but I am interested in journalism/communications. I am open to either majoring in an area of interest that pertains to journalism (American Studies, anthropology etc) or in journalism or another communications-related major. Please let me know what you think!

White female from Texas

High school:
Good ECs
3.5 GPA at top 5 private high school in TX (did well in the humanities, struggled in math and science- despite weak areas showed major upward trend finishing with all A’s throughout senior year)
ACT: 33

College:
First semester: 3.876 GPA (16 credits- 3 A’s, 2 A-'s). I of course plan on maintaining a high GPA next semester and will try to replace any courses that seem like they will hinder my GPA.
Involvement: Social media assistant for school publication; Spoon University writer and videographer. I work for an international furniture company making videos and contributing to their blog- I’ve been doing this since the summer of 2017. I will be rushing this January.

Schools I’m Applying to:
University of Texas
NYU
UNC
Boston University
Michigan
Vanderbilt
*I did not apply to any of these schools as a senior. I am aware that I need to add a school (or schools) to this list that I have a better chance of getting into- if you have any suggestions let me know. Thank you!

You have solid stats! Why are you looking to transfer from American? Also, if you’re in need of financial aid, then you should tread carefully when looking at universities.

Run each school’s net-price calc (make sure you specify that you’re a transfer!), to get a rough estimate of what you’d pay.

EDIT: Ah, I saw your post on why!
