As I have more than 30 credit hours I don’t have to submit my HS GPA, but I applied and was admitted as a transfer last year with a 2.9 hs GPA and a 3.7 college GPA, and my extracurriculars were not all that good (they’ve improved since then).
I haven’t sent in my application yet. I know it’s rolling admission, but do you think if I apply a little after april 1st, I will still be a strong candidate and recieve financial aid (i already sent in css and fafsa before the deadlines)? I’m transferring as a current freshman from a private college. My major is political science with a concentration in IR…here are my stats
high school
sat 1640 (wont be sending in)
gpa 3.2 (2.85 during junior yr probably why I got rejected when I first applied to AU last year…but other than that it was above a 3.2 every other year
did a lot of internship/volunteer work and was a school activist
college
first semester gpa 3.78
have one incomplete in a course and im trying to complete it before applying
second semester
withdrew from a course due to depression/mental healht issues but gpa will probably be 3.5
interning with a state agency and volunteering with NGO
one solid reccomendation
college essay - id like to be in a more intellectually stimulating environment
@coprice Thank goodness there’s someone like me! It was completed almost right after I submitted in late February, but I just e-mailed my admissions officer and he said that there was a delay in receiving my transcripts and I should “get a decision shortly.”
Lol I’ve emailed my admissions counselor too and she gave me the same answer three weeks ago :(. She did say, “we will probably review [my] application by the end of the week” (meaning March 24th)…so I’m really hoping that we hear soon.
I applied to the School of Communication. What about you? Have you heard back yet? This is honestly getting a little ridiculous. It’s almost been 10 weeks for me now.
@coprice I totally understand! No, I have not heard back yet, but I’m assuming it will be within the next week or so. I applied to CAS (not sure if it’s the right name) for Art History.
