Hello! Please chance me.
I have made a post like this before, but a few things have changed.
I am applying to these schools:

  • Cal Poly SLO
  • Cal Poly Pomona

Stats:

  • UC GPA: 4.1
  • Unweighted GPA: 3.98
  • I haven’t taken any AP’s yet, but here is my senior course load:
    AP Calc AB, AP Macroeconomics, AP Politics and Gov,
    AP Computer Science Principles, Honors Spanish 5, English 12, and Strings Ensemble
  • I got an A in Psychology which I took at a community college
  • SAT: 1370 (690 English, 680 Math)
  • Gender: Female
  • From California
  • Major: Computer Science

Extracurriculars and other stuff:

  • 100 hours of community service: 4H, Public Libraries, and raising money
    for other nonprofits
  • Varsity basketball 2 year
  • Karate for 8 years and I am a black belt
  • I took a summer enrichment course for Biology and English (invite only)
  • Jazz Band for 6 years and I am 1st chair tenor and alto saxophone
  • Drumline for 4 years, captain for 3 years, marimba and xylophone
  • Marching Band for 4 years, tenor and alto saxophone
  • String Ensemble for 7 years, first chair cello
  • Applied programming/coding class for 1 year (Auto CAD/Solid Works)
  • Programming/coding class for 1 year (Python)
  • Engineering class for 1 year
  • Debate Club for 2 years, first year: Secretary, second year: Vice President
  • Global Relief Club for 2 years
  • I tutored high school students in Biology for 1 year
  • Raised money to build an electric go-kart for fun with a friend
  • I am currently building a website for a man living in a third-world country
    who gives tours to raise money for food and education to give to poor kids
    and their families in his city

Your UC GPA is within range for all the schools on your list, but since you have not taken any AP’s until Senior year, your HS course rigor will impact your chances at the top schools especially if you are targeting a CS major.

Is there a reason for not taking AP classes until Senior year?

Your SAT is on the lower side for the top UC’s and Cal Poly SLO also.

Based on your list:
UCSD/UCB/UCLA/Cal Poly SLO: Reach schools
UCSB/UCI/UCD: Low Reach-High Match
CSULB/SDSU/UCSC: Match
CPP: Safety

I would add another CSU such as CSU Fullerton as a safety or even UC Riverside.
