ACT: 33 (30 Eng, 32 Reading, 35 Maths, 36 Science) Essay was kinda crap, retaking in sept
Will take SAT 2 Math and Physics in Oct (Shouldn’t be a big problem)

Sadly our schools doesn’t do class ranks

ECs:

  • Head of finance for a student led charity fashion show, managed to raise over USD 15K for charity
  • House leadership team (It’s a bit like student council, hard to explain)
  • Tutor Economics for those struggling in my school for free
  • Varsity tennis team captain, won the Division 2 league
  • Personally ranked 50-60 nationally in HK for tennis
  • Participated in many selective summer programs (CTY) and invited for a fully funded summer program
  • 2 Law internships (I know, bit irrelevant)
  • International Math, Science awards, as well as national MUN awards
  • ABRSM Grade 8 piano
  • Founded own start up company, wasn’t exactly succesful but I think I will be using that as my common app topic.

Descriptions for my ECs were a bit brief. I can add any extra detail if required! Thank you

@Impossiblu Imo Harvard and Penn would be high reaches, Brown would be a reach, Stern maybe a low reach and the rest would be matches. Maybe try to raise the ACT score a bit? You have decent chances in any of them though.

Do you need financial aid? If so, the UCs are out since there is no aid for foreign students.

BU/Villanova are matches based on your grades/standardized test results. NYU Stern could be a high match/low reach.

Add IU-Bloomington to your list. Top rate B-school and it could be a match.

@Penn95 @Hamurtle Thanks for the responses guys. Btw, do you know how much ACT essay matters? I keep getting low marks on that and I’m wondering how big of an impact it has on my app.

The writing test may not necessarily determine whether you get in to your school. It may determine whether you need to take a writing placement test once you are accepted.

How did you get a 7 on the HL math exam? From what I know you must be a senior in order to take the exam.

OPs IB scores are predictions. Agree with some of the other posters that another ACT might help.

Another school that should be on the list is Boston College.
