Chance Me: William and Mary!

Hi! I am currently a senior in high school and am applying Early Decision to William and Mary! I wanted to have a few opinions on whether or not I have a chance of getting in, so here are my credentials:

School: in Northern Virginia (I am a VA resident and qualify for in-state tuition)
GPA: 3.956
Course rigor: I have a total of 10 AP classes and 8 Honors classes from throughout high school!
Test scores: SAT (2400)- 1670 (I retook the SAT earlier this month and I am awaiting the results!)
Extra curricular activities:
-142 hours of volunteer work (and more to come!)
*100 volunteer hours came from working at a primary care physician’s clinic
*20 hours came from working at a nursing home
*20 hours came from coaching volleyball
*I plan to work with my English Honor Society as a tutor for children at a homeless shelter for at least 8 hours
-28 hours of leadership experience (I was the coach of a volleyball team and a freshman mentor at school)
-part of the band for 4 years (marching band for 1 year, got a varsity letter!)
-National Honor Society (2 years), National English Honor Society (1 year), Tri-M Music Honor Society (3 years)
Transcript: My GPA is not as high as I wanted it to be because in my sophomore year, I was hospitalized during finals week and was unable to take my finals (not sure how much that info helps, but I am planning to add it to my application)
-I plan to major in Biology/Health Science, or maybe Pediatric Neurology

It would be really nice to get some feedback on this! Thanks so much!

Strong candidate. Probably good chance of getting accepted, and have chance for scholarships if they offer

What is the breakdown of your SAT? The Common Data Set states the 75 percentile of students admitted is low 700s in Math and Reading.

My SAT scores aren’t too high, which is really my only concern. All of my section scores were around the upper 500’s.

You have a great chance!! Just try to get your SAT up to at least a 2000 and you’ll be fine!

If my SAT score does not improve much, what do you guys think? The deadline is fast approaching and I’m a little nervous. Thanks so much!

UPDATE: I got a 1230 on the new SAT, which is around a 1710 on the old. This is an improvement by 40 points.

Did you get in ED?!
