Oh also i’m founding a women’s study club

you seem to be a part of a lot of clubs and stuff. I think colleges prefer it if you were deeply involved in 2-3 of these activities as opposed to being a member of all of them. Also since your a freshmen its hard to chance you without seeing your grades when you get to the harder material/SAT scores. If you cant to get into these CA schools I suggest spending time studying for SAT/ACT and make sure you nail it. Also your 1st semester gpa wont matter as long as it improves and you work hard for the rest of high school. The last thing to consider is maybe trying to find a summer activity to do that you really care about and is related to the area you may want to study. This can be an internship or volunteering or something besides just sleeping and playing video games all summer.

The good thing about applying to california’s public schools, is that when you apply to UC schools using their application, you can apply to 9 of their campuses at once. (Although not recommended as you still have to send SAT scores, ect independently) Perhaps some of the less selective UC schools will do as safeties? (Assuming you will qualify for in state tuition when you mother moves)
