Chance me?

Okay so I applied earlier in October to Tulane and still haven’t heard anything, and I’m a borderline applicant so yes I know I was probably deferred, but Tulane is my dream school so I can’t help but still cling onto hope. Do you think you can tell me if I have an okay chance of getting in?

SAT- 1820 (CR-530 M-640 W-650)
CR is really hard for me, I tried so hard to bring it up but that’s the best I could do.

GPA- 3.64

My class doesn’t do rankings.

I have lots of extracurriculars including captain of varsity sport, president of youth group, job at sunday school, etc

I had a strong essay/ Why Tulane along with great letters of rec and emailing my admissions counselor/ joining the tulane online chats for demonstrated interest.

I know I am not one of those people with a 2350 and 4.6 GPA, I work as hard as I can but I am just slower than most people and can’t do that.

Do I even have the slightest chance? I just feel so discouraged because everyone posting about them getting in has such high stats. Thanks.

Write to your admissions counselor indicating intense interest, with very specific reasons for such interest. Also indicate that you will accept your offer of admission if you get one. Now is the time to do some serious reflecting regard on why your are interested in the school. Either way, and I say this sincerely, you seem to have good character, humility, and you express yourself well. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that any one school is an absolute must. In college, focus on acquiring the skills and knowledge that you will need to have a fulfilling life and career. You have good enough stats and ECs that you will go somewhere that will enable you to be whatever you want to be. Oh yea, to answer your question, you do have a shot at Tulane. Best of luck.
