To explain the low GPA, I had a 3.95 cumulative GPA after freshman and sophomore year, as well as my first quarter at Highline (our local running start college). I took all honors possible and my sophomore math class was actually IB. Got really bad depression due to a kidney disease and basically bombed my next two quarters and wound with 3.13 cumulative at the end. Wrote in my essay about overcoming this and creating a morally supportive community wherever I go, etc. First quarter of Sophomore year at Highline and have a 4.0, just sucks that they wont ever see it, had some people from udub proofread and say it was pretty good.
What do you think my chances are? Ive had some people from udub tell me they are OK, but not to be surprised if I get denied. Just hoping they really look holistically.

Meant that after first quarter during senior year I have a 4.0, not junior

It’s hard to say because your GPA is really below average, and your SAT score is below UW’s average, as well as the national average so that’s not good. However, you getting good grades and because of your sickness hopefully UW will take that into consideration. It’s really hard to chance someone like you because even though your scores aren’t that good you have other factors that are good – you’re instate, good essays (based on what other people say), your EC’s aren’t amazing but you did show that you aren’t lazy in school. I would need more information on your application as well, like did you take any AP or honors classes?
