Hello,
I am currently a Junior at a prestigious catholic high school in California. My top schools are Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, University of Michigan, and the University of Chicago. I also have a few safeties, but I was wondering which of these schools I have better chances of getting in to.
ACT: 33 (English: 35, Math: 29, Reading: 35, Science: 31) I am planning on taking it again in June, and I am aiming for a 35.
GPA: 4.25
I took Spanish 3 as a sophomore.
Junior Classes: AP Psychology, Honors Pre-Calculus, U.S. History, Religion (it is required), AP Biology, and AP English Lang.
Senior Classes: AP Physics C (E/M), AP Calculus A/B, AP English Lit., AP Civics, Ceramics, and Honors Philosophy
Advantages:
I am Middle Eastern.
I am a First-Generation college student in my family.
I speak Arabic and English.
I have a few awards at my school for classes.
I have been on the Principal’s list since freshman year.
I have been a member of the National Honors Society since freshman year.
I am a member of California Scholarship Federation.
EC:
I have played club soccer for 10 years, and played high school soccer freshman and sophomore year.
I am President of the Pre-Med Club.
I founded the Cancer Awareness Club (We are currently sponsoring a family whose 10-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a very rare form of neuroblastoma. We have donated about $2000 to her and her family.)
I volunteer at Sharp hospital (100 hours of service).
I coach a middle school basketball and soccer team (75 hours of service).
Feeding America and Volunteer at elderly home (100 hours of service).
I am starting an internship this summer with an orthopedic surgeon full-time.
I led a leadership conference for elementary students visiting our school.
