Chance Me?

So I applied to Brown in sort of a crap shoot lol, but I was wondering what my chance was for RD because my application is NOT well-rounded at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Weighted GPA: 3.89 (I had a teacher ask me if I was “a f****t” in front of my class my junior year, so I had to switch out of three AP classes because of schedule conflicts. I also wasn’t out of the closet yet (nor was I ready), so it threw me off for a solid semester or so. I ended up getting a B average my second semester because bullying got pretty bad, plus anxiety etc. etc. etc. This year, I’m catching up and taking AP classes to try to boost my gpa and it’s a 4.5 this semester. )

Essays:
Common App: I wrote about my love for language and how I hate camping (which, like, was really about growing up as a queer Mormon kid in Idaho)
Why Brown: talked about activism and open curriculum and how different it is from Idaho which has 0 opportunities
Major: I talk about how slang can actually be used to further social justice if fully understood and how academia often excludes marginalized communities in the guise of “formality” and how understanding the origin of certain words like slurs, slang and swears is really important.
Home: I wrote about my car, which is sort of lame, but I really like my mini van

Brown is a long shot for everyone, but you sound like a great fit! Best of luck!
