I have a 3.48UW and a 3.95W at a top public school. My SATs will probably be around 1400 (If I get to take it). I am a leader with Science Olympiad, Junior Statesmen of America, and the summer volunteers at my public library. I am also involved with Scholastic bowl and Model UN. I will apply for the social sciences air transportation major with political science as my second choice. I will have taken 7 AP’s, APUSH, APES, APCSP, gov, macro, micro, stats, and lang. The only test I have taken is APUSH and I got a 3. I have exceeded all of their college prep requirements, except foreign language as I only took two years of Japanese. I am OOS.
Also, do I stand a chance with the national buckeye scholarship? I am concerned as my school does not do class rank but I am pretty confident I can score over a 1330.
I will say 3.8 UW GPA (top 10% class rank) + 1450 SAT (32 ACT) = Good chance for national buckeye scholarship. My son has 3.6 UW/4.0 W GPA (top 20% class rank) with 1380 SAT and did not get anything from national buckeye scholarship this year. I can see it will become even more competitive for getting scholarships next year.
@jkd4855 - you just need to get your application in by 11/1 - that’s the deadline to be guaranteed to be considered. I think I got mine in late August.
