chance me!

HI
i moved to US in 2007 december
my SAT scores were bad and i had to work my butt off
to get the score
I have gpa of 4.026
and I've taken practice SAT and it's 1800s.
I'm taking again in october
because my canadian school didn't offer any honors
I took APchem here and am taking AP bio this year.
I had to take mandatory french and took spanishin gr 10 and in 11
but when i moved here, my counselor said language isn't required so i didn't take spanish 2. But i realized that in order to apply for top colleges, i need to have more than 3 years of language. I'm taking spanish 2 this year.

I am a treasurer in earth team
and i know i don't have much of extracurricular activities.
Since i moved to another country during my junior year, it was
disadvantage for me to take advanced classes and other activities.

I need advice from you whether i should even try to apply in top colleges

Thank you so much

I'm going to be frank here.

From what I've heard and read about people who got accepted to Cornell and their stats, I think your chance of getting accepted is very low. Your SAT score is very low; it's not even within the 25-75 percentile. And without extracurriculars, you pretty much lose a bonus point since Cornell is very much about fit-match and cares about commitment. Also, considering how the applicant pool is expected to be very large and competitive this year. I think you're better off spending your time and money applying else where.

But nevertheless, you STILL have a chance. Everyone has a chance -- high or low, that's another thing.
